Residents in Wuhan Report Loud Noise; Authorities Deny Explosion, Suspect Sonic Boom

Journalists noted that there are still many netizens speculating that the loud noise might have been the sound of an aircraft sonic boom. One netizen posted, 'The Leishenshan Hospital is located on the border of Jiangxia District, and there are many planes transporting supplies, which may have caused the sonic boom.'

At noon today, many residents in Wuhan reported hearing loud noises in the air.

The Chuandushi Daily reporter subsequently inquired from multiple sources and found no explosion occurred. Residents suspected it was the sound of an aircraft flying and generating sonic booms. At 12:37 PM on today, citizen Mr. Guo was watching television at his home in Baishazhou when he suddenly heard a dull thud, but he felt his windows vibrate and found nothing out of the ordinary when he went to the window. Subsequently, he saw many netizens online who had also heard the noise.

A netizen residing in Xihu District, 'Not Not the Daughter of Summer Rain and Lotus' stated, 'The sound was like the roar of an aircraft.' A netizen from Jiangxia District, 'Wang Nianzhe,' said he heard a loud bang at 12:37 PM, which lasted for seven or eight minutes as a plane roared overhead. A netizen located in Zhifang, Jiangxia, 'Zhunenwenwenwenwen' stated that there were always planes flying nearby. A netizen from the same Jiangxia District, 'Man Yue,' said when the loud noise occurred, he was eating at home, and his windows and table rattled, and he initially thought it was an earthquake, and he ran to the balcony in fright.

The Chuandushi Daily reporter consulted the Wuhan City Fire Rescue Brigade, the Jiangxia District Public Security Sub-Bureau, and the Jiangxia District Fire Rescue Brigade, all of which stated that there were no related accident reports received on the 119 platform or the 110 platform. The Wuhan City Emergency Management Bureau also stated that it had not received any reports of related accidents. The Hubei Military District and the Hubei Epidemic Prevention and Control Command Center stated that the military aircraft executing tasks today were executing their related tasks normally.
