The more ‘silent’ one is in these moments, the stronger one’s inner self becomes.
As the saying goes, 'Silence is golden.' However, in reality, many people cannot remain silent, preferring to speak out and argue with others. Arguing with others is an innate instinct of a person; not being silent and maintaining composure is a capacity of a person.
A truly strong person doesn't like to 'speak out,' and they will only reveal their talents when absolutely necessary. Silent people are like the sweepers in 'The Legend of the Dragon Warrior,' quietly and diligently fulfilling their tasks, immersing themselves in the happenings of the martial world, and then, at critical moments, they unleash their power to subdue others and achieve their own best selves. As the saying goes, 'Silence is golden; when it breaks, it makes a startling impact.'
Truly strong people are internally strong. Perhaps they will never amass a fortune, but they are undoubtedly elegant and free. They persevere in doing what they enjoy, not caring about the opinions of others, and are not controlled by others' thinking patterns.
A person is most powerful when they are silent in the following situations:
1. When slandered, they remain silent.
Being able to speak eloquently doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing. A person who constantly talks and argues is prone to making mistakes. When someone defames you, it's often due to jealousy and slander; if you argue with them, you give an opportunity for petty people to 'gain' from it; petty people hope to achieve this effect.
My colleague, Pear Flower, is a simple and honest woman. One day, another colleague, Zhang Wang, told her, 'Someone says you participated in a student reunion recently and almost caused a divorce!' Pear Flower was surprised: 'Who said that? Where did they hear this? I went to the reunion, but I didn't do anything, and I didn't have any connections with my ex-boyfriend.' Zhang Wang said, 'Liu said he saw you two arguing fiercely.'
Pear Flower found Liu and earnestly said, 'Did you really see me arguing with my husband? Did you really see me arguing with a classmate?' Liu said, 'The day before yesterday, you were arguing with your husband while walking in the park. You didn't deny it, did you, because you were afraid someone would expose you.' Pear Flower listened to Liu's words and became even more infuriated. For several days, she argued with Liu relentlessly. However, Liu continued to provoke her: 'Do you know that Pear Flower often contacted her ex-boyfriend, and they fought fiercely?'
Internally strong people, when faced with slander, simply let it go, don't dig into the root cause, and don't argue. If a person doesn't do anything wrong, it's fine to let others say whatever they want; they can accept it internally. If you argue with someone, it makes it seem like 'this is a real thing, he cares so much.'
2. When facing losses, they remain silent.
A person remains silent when they suffer losses, both proactively accepting responsibility and bearing the pressure, and not blaming others; and they are estimating the extent of the loss and how to restore the situation.Of course, if the loss is due to someone else's mistake, and the loss is significant, then it should be compensated for; if it's a small loss, then it shouldn't be counted. The more you count, the more troubled you become.
My cousin, Dou Dou, lost a hundred yuan on a bus the other day. She was unhappy. Dou Dou's husband said, 'It doesn't matter.' But Dou Dou didn't give up. She found the bus company and reviewed the surveillance footage from the previous day, but she didn't find any evidence. Later, she checked the bus stop surveillance camera and found several suspicious people following her, but she couldn't find any evidence of wrongdoing. Because of reviewing the surveillance footage for a whole day, she didn't even have a meal at home, and her husband scolded her for it. Dou Dou was busy for a day with no results, and she was in a bad mood, so she angrily scolded her husband.
Small losses, if you count them, you will only feel worse; it's better to 'let it go.' A strong person doesn't care about small losses; they are more tolerant and understanding. Even if no one understands them, they can comfort themselves; even if they encounter difficult things, they will take their time and sort things out, finding a solution.
3. When others are angry, they remain silent.
Once, our company had a partnership with a customer terminated, leading to the contract's termination. The leader was very angry and convened a meeting to vent his frustrations. The leader believed that Li Mei was involved and hadn't communicated with the client effectively. Li Mei was wrongly accused, as she had only met the client briefly. During the meeting, Li Mei suddenly stood up and said, 'Today, let's say it clearly, don't accuse me of being a bully!' Li Mei was even more annoyed. Finally, Li Mei was reassigned to the warehouse as a clerk, losing all her previous positions.
As the saying goes, 'A push-button causes a hole in the sky.' A person who likes to show off and boast is revealing their abilities and targeting. If your rivals know this, they will suppress you, and jealous people will create obstacles.
A strong person quietly and diligently does what they enjoy, and doesn't try to impress others. The stronger a person is, the more low-key they are, and they are very humble. It's like water being lower than the sea – a low base is a vast expanse.
4. When improving, they remain silent.

A strong person quietly and diligently does what they enjoy, and doesn't try to impress others. If a person is capable, they don't need to show it off; when a person is quiet, they are more powerful. It's like water being lower than the sea – a low base is a vast expanse.

A person is not powerful simply by trying to be impressive; the more a person is quiet, the stronger they are. They have a greater tolerance, a broader mind, and are more tolerant of others. Even if no one understands them, they can comfort themselves; even if they encounter difficult things, they will take their time and sort things out, finding a solution.
Not saying anything often has the effect of 'silence is golden.' It reflects a person's wisdom and allows them to live with elegance and composure.
In life, doing well for oneself is enough; there's no need to say anything, there's no need to say anything.
