Daily Feeding Precautions for Blue Tufted Jays
The feeding and management of Blue Tufted Jays have their own techniques, and many bird enthusiasts often cause birds to get sick or die due to improper daily feeding and management. To reduce resource waste and protect bird resources, today let's share some experience about the daily feeding of Blue Tufted Jays with everyone.
The daily feeding of Blue Tufted Jays generally requires the bird to have more contact with people and play, which will speed up the bird's capture and stabilization. For those noisy birds, it's only stable after finishing one aftercare. Especially during feeding, in winter, the ratio of meat, egg yolks and meat powder should be increased; after the vernal equinox, the ratio of meat and vegetables should be immediately reduced and gradually increase the live insect feeding amount. In autumn, it's generally recommended to move the bird indoors for feeding, and the room temperature should be controlled between 12-25 degrees Celsius, with cotton pads on the bottom of the cage to prevent the bird's feet from getting cold. During feeding, if you notice the bird standing on one foot with the other foot tucked into its feathers, you should cover the cage cover to prevent wind and frostbite, and wrap the cage perch with cotton thread to prevent the bird's feet from freezing. Simultaneously, increase the feeding of egg yolks. Every day, try to feed some vegetables (such as rapeseed, Chinese cabbage, bitter melon) and fruits (such as cucumber, apple).
Helmeted Guineafowl like cleanliness and love bathing, sometimes the bird gets soaked, and weak birds can die from excessive bathing. Therefore, the new bird needs to gain weight before bathing, and twice a week is enough. After bathing, it should be exposed to the sun to make the feathers neat and vibrant. In summer, the bathing frequency can be increased, and it can be done once a day.
For timid birds, they become prone to bowing their heads due to excessive fear over time. At this time, you should adjust the position of the cage to make the perch form a right angle with the person's face, so the bird will not bow its head. When feeding, it's best to avoid direct eye contact with the Blue Tufted Jay, or you can change the bowing habit.
At the same time, feeding Helmeted Guineafowl also requires frequent outings. In suitable weather conditions, with outdoor temperatures above 18 degrees Celsius, take the cage for a walk. This will make the bird more stable and the feathers brighter and more orderly. The feed to be fed during the day can be dry food, but it should be fed once every other day with wet food, and 10 to 15 live insects (such as bread beetle, worm beetle, or corn beetle) should be supplied daily. In spring and autumn, 3 to 5 ground spiders can be fed daily to keep them close to what they eat in the wild, which is beneficial for their daily needs.
