Jilin Jixing Wetland Welcomes Returning Migratory Birds
Recently, the Jingqin Wetland in Hunchun City, Jilin Province, has welcomed its first batch of migratory birds returning from the north. A large number of Canada geese were flying in the wetland, interspersed with White-tailed Eagles and Yellow-billed Eagles, both national level protected birds. According to monitoring by the Wild Resource Protection Office of the Hunchun Northeast White Tiger National Nature Reserve Administration, these birds numbered over ten thousand, with approximately 30 White-tailed Eagles and 2 Yellow-billed Eagles. Jingqin Wetland is located in a key state-owned forest area under the jurisdiction of the Changbaishan Forestry Group. The China-Japan and China-Russia migratory bird routes converge here. Every spring and autumn, tens of thousands of migratory birds stop to forage and replenish their energy.
