Encountering the 'National Treasure' Wild Giant Panda in Baishui River Protection Zone

Original Title: Gansu Baishui River Protection Zone Staff Encounter Wild Giant Panda

Recently, the Baishui River National Nature Reserve of Gansu Province, managed by the Letuhe Protection Station, saw its forest patrol officers encounter a wild giant panda and recorded the precious scene with their mobile phones. According to patrol officer Han Wei's recollection, they encountered the wild giant panda at a distance of about 10 meters. He admitted that the protection area is vast and the terrain is complex, and even forest patrol officers have a very small chance of seeing the entity giant panda in the wild. Most patrol officers do not have such good luck even after working a lifetime. It is rare for them to have such a close encounter with the ‘national treasure’.

I was patrolling, around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, I was sitting by the river in the valley to have lunch, when a giant panda suddenly came up from the valley. It was probably drinking water, I was sitting there, and it appeared, I realized it was a giant panda.
In recent years, the Gansu Baishui River National Nature Reserve has continued to implement strict ecological protection measures and strengthen patrol monitoring, providing a paradise for the reproduction and growth of rare animals such as giant pandas, golden monkeys, and moose. By effectively playing the role of part-time forest patrol officers and strengthening community governance, it has effectively reduced human interference in the forest area and truly implemented ‘someone manages the mountain, someone protects the forest, and someone bears the responsibility’.
