The 48th lineage holder of the Linji school, Master Xinyun, said: 'Most people only know how to bathe to cleanse their bodies, but they don't know the importance of 'purifying their hearts.' They let their hearts run wild in the world of desire and delusion, counting gains and losses, and ultimately have no chance of liberation. How should we purify our hearts? Letting go of desires and distractions is the power to purify our minds. When one thought is let go, our imperfect life becomes more peaceful and complete.'
