Grand Canal

February. I saw a flock of swans flying across the night sky above our city
Surrounded by coolness and silence
I heard the sound of flowing water, cheerful and lively
Wings cutting through the air, accompanied by cries
As if a ray of light pierced through the starry sky
This deep night seemed to transform into moist earth
Many plants began to sprout with a hazy green
The swans flew, from south to north
Trailing a faint glimmer behind them
The earth became soft, patch by patch
Clear springs overflowed the night sky
They flew for a whole night
Like soldiers galloping with their bit hitched
Only a slight sound
But dawn disappeared without a trace
I looked up and saw water lilies blooming in my window
The room was filled with a faint fragrance
The Yellow River flowed endlessly towards the sea
Rivers full of shimmering fish, transforming into countless seagulls
The Yellow River flowed swiftly
Like a giant snake traversing mountains and rivers
Spitting out fertile oases with dense human settlements
White sails drifted down the river
Masts swirling with rays of morning mist
Lanterns blinked brightly in the night sky
