Why Do We Take the Graduate Entrance Exam?
In that instant when the Gaokao ended, it felt as if we had finally achieved the victory of the Long March, persevered to the success of the revolution. At that time, we were full of boundless anticipation for the future and overflowing with eagerness for university life, yearning to find our soulmate, like a scene in a movie, and eager to engage in in-depth discussions with professors in the classroom. Many things begin with beauty, but when we become accustomed to the daily grind of study and life, we become indifferent to what we once longed for. The passion fades, and we enter our second year, when we begin to feel lost; we start to feel anxious; we may have tasted forbidden fruit and experienced a breakup; we start to plan our future, with groups of three or five discussing entrepreneurship, which was truly full of talented people. However, we gradually realize that we were once so naive, and we face the harsh reality. Some people bow to reality, while others keep fighting. As the saying goes, 'keep fighting, and a bicycle turns into a motorcycle'! A large part of our students returned home to take the Gaokao.
