Why Do Most of Us Become Ordinary Fish?

Today is a drafting day.

I wrote a listening script titled 'The Spirit of Mandela: A Memoir by Kobe Bryant' for a long time. There are some points, about perseverance, about personal achievement, and let's chat about it.

I believe most people don't want to be ordinary, they yearn for fame and fortune, and want to become a different person.

But often, mediocrity and laziness limit our development, and let us eventually become ordinary people in the face of time.

Although it's said that being an ordinary person is nothing wrong, but have you really been willing to face the end of your life without having some satisfying moments?

Why are we mediocre because our environment and resources haven't given us a clear direction.

Yesterday I was still discussing this problem with a friend, why is it said that poor children can't catch up with wealthy children?

Because when wealthy children are young, their rich fathers have already planned a perfect growth path for them. While poor children, until they finish college or work for several years, they don't have a clear plan for their lives, and even eventually have no idea.

This is a naked reality.

When I first started working, we had a military officer who graduated from the same university as me. His development route was planned by his parents in advance. When to go to the grassroots, when to go to the agency, when to transfer, almost perfectly connected. A brilliant career.

While I, in the same situation, didn't see any direction for development. For me, on this military path, if nothing goes wrong, the final outcome is inevitably mediocrity.

And Kobe became a basketball miracle because his father was an NBA star, he found his one-life mission when he was very young, he clearly knew that he wanted to become one of the greatest basketball players in history, he could put in any effort for this goal.

Moreover, under his father's guidance and planning, he almost wasted no time in pursuing his highest ideals.

Of course, it doesn't mean that ordinary people have no chance to achieve something, but the earlier you know your life's mission, the sooner you may achieve it.

So if you are still lost and have a desire to do something, you can find a senior mentor to point you in the right direction.

Let's talk about the second question, why are we lazy? This is because our inner desire is not strong enough.

Kobe's most famous saying is, 'Have you ever seen 4:30 AM in Los Angeles?'

This is not a joke, but Kobe really practiced it, ten years like one, he got up at 4:30 AM for 20 years.

For ordinary people, it's hard to get up at 4:30 am, but he did it for 20 years.

I saw a comment on WeChat Reading: 'Genius doesn't need to sleep for a few hours, I need to sleep a lot, it's no wonder most people can only be ordinary.'

Some people don't need to sleep less, but it's adjustable. If you often maintain a sleep of 6 hours a day, your body will gradually get used to this biological clock.

So there's no difference between geniuses and ordinary people in terms of physical condition, the root cause is our inner desire for the things we pursue.

Kobe's decision to join the NBA at the age of 17 was a firm commitment to become one of the greatest basketball players in history, his desire for this goal was unprecedented.

Even if he was originally a basketball genius, he still had to put in ten times the effort to achieve extraordinary achievements.

So once you choose a distance, perseverance is always 'one day's effort.'

If you are always lazy and haven't taken action or can't persevere for a thing, it's because your inner desire isn't strong enough.

For me, writing seems like a lifelong dedication. When I first started writing online, the conditions were very difficult, even I couldn't use a laptop, and didn't even buy a script, I had to print it on the army printer.

How did I do it? Find a friend to download the electronic version and send it to me, then make it into a disc, and print it on the army printer.

Read, write on mobile phone, until the draft is completed.

I didn't have time to read during the day, so I could only read in the evening, and when the army extinguished the lights, there was no light, and it was forbidden to use a lamp, so I used a small flashlight from Xiaomi with a charging bank to read.

At that time, the conditions were very difficult, but I didn't feel like I was persevering, now it seems that it's more because of a strong inner desire guiding me forward.

What kind of person you can become depends on your inner desire. Often, whether you can succeed depends on whether you can arouse your whole inner desire.

In summary, for ordinary people to have a different life, there are two steps, one is to find a senior mentor to point you in the right direction, and the other is to stimulate your inner desire.
