Why People Dislike Successful People
Socrates said, 'The best person is yourself.'
As a person becomes increasingly outstanding, he tends to do himself and have nothing to do with others, gradually becoming a person who doesn't follow the crowd. Outstanding people are often labeled as 'conceited, self-satisfied, and boasting,' but these labels are not what he wants, often imposed by others.
A mediocre person, when encountering an outstanding person, often doesn't proactively learn from him, instead complaining, 'Why did you give good opportunities to others? Why did you put money into other people's pockets.' In his complaining, he breeds resentment and hatred of wealth and officials, and deliberately keeps a distance from outstanding people.
Why do people dislike outstanding individuals?
1. Not everyone wants you to be happy, and many people are jealous of you.
Wood makes its home in the forest, the wind must blow it down. A mediocre person suddenly becomes outstanding, and the original friends gradually drift away, even harboring grudges. This society is dominated by mediocrity, and outstanding people are a minority, so an outstanding person sometimes appears 'showy,' causing others to resent and try to hinder his development.
My classmate Mo Mo graduated from high school and started a farm at home, but it never took off. In recent years, he has cleared more than 50 acres of wasteland and planted peach trees. Now, his annual income is two or three hundred thousand. As the leading industrial and commercial enterprise in the village, he should be envied and praised by the villagers, but Mo Mo discovered that peach groves were often vandalized, and someone deliberately damaged the orchard's road.
Mo Mo told the villagers, 'If everyone wants to develop orchards, I am willing to provide technology without charge.' Even so, some villagers still secretly damaged his peach orchard. Once, when the peaches were ready for harvest, Mo Mo harvested several hundred kilograms of peaches in one day, but in the afternoon, the peach merchants were still nowhere to be seen. You know, if the peaches are not sold in time, they will rot in a few days, which is worrying for Mo Mo. The next day, Mo Mo found that the merchants had been driven away by the villagers, and a group of young people scared the merchants away, so the merchants no longer dared to come.
At the alumni gathering, Mo Mo said, 'People who are too seen are not common.' I thought about this for a long time. When a person doesn't learn from outstanding people, but envies them, and destroys their development, this is a terrible psychology, and it reflects their low quality. Therefore, outstanding people have become people that no one likes.
Ants and flies gather together, tigers and lions always go alone. A good person is a group, and a bad person is a single person. A person who is outstanding often gets along with more outstanding people, gradually withdrawing from the circle of old friends, appearing increasingly aloof. So the people around him 'take the initiative' to stay away from outstanding people.
Truly outstanding people become more and more unique.
The world has no two identical leaves, a person is just one leaf, but many people are assimilated by others, and they gradually lose themselves. If a person does not 'follow the trend' and insist on being himself, he often achieves greater success.
A person who excels in academics is a person who is committed to learning, unwilling to join others in 'playing games and eating and drinking all day.' He spends his time studying, which is also an indirect way of distancing himself from others. 'The Queen's Classroom' says: 'As long as you are still learning, life has endless possibilities.' Many people gave up learning because they 'followed the trend,' and it is rare for people to persevere in learning for a lifetime.
A person who has achieved success in a particular industry insists on 'going his own way.' A person who insists on following the old path will not achieve great success, even if he follows others, he must have innovative consciousness and be able to go out of his own way. For example, if a restaurant owner doesn't have his own signature dishes, it will be more difficult to make the business better.
A person who has ideals will not always seek the opinions of others, and opinions are often many, some supportive and some opposed, making him very difficult. It is often said: 'Public opinion is public, and private opinions are private.' Everyone has different experiences, and the principles they say are different. Only by grasping ideals and persisting in pursuing ideals can you succeed.
When a person insists on being himself, he often appears 'out of the ordinary,' and is alienated from society. Your excellence makes you disliked.
In fact, you should believe that when you make small progress, others will be jealous, when you make a big difference from others, others can only admire you.
