This poem by He Zhu is profoundly moving and deeply sentimental, leaving a lasting impression after reading it.
We live in this world, besides family and friendship, love is a more important spiritual outlet, it is romantic and touching, especially a beautiful love, it can give us endless power, bring us endless emotion. However, love is often sad. We may love passionately, but eventually due to various factors, we are permanently separated.

A truly loved person is still missed even after being separated, hoping they are doing well, this is the most touching aspect of love. Enduring the pain of love while hoping for their happiness makes love even more unforgettable. Ancient literati also tirelessly wrote about love, after all, love is a timeless theme in literary works, no matter how many past writers have written it, it will never be finished.
There are many love poems in Song Ci, especially the works of He Zhu in the Northern Song Dynasty are the most touching. Especially his poems for his wife's mourning, each poem is deep and meaningful, depicting the pain of missing her vividly. However, I, as the author, would like to share another of his works, 'Green Cloak·East Wind Willows', which is also a very typical love poem. He created this poem after being separated from his beloved, so it is extremely sincere, full of sorrow and longing.
'East wind willows along the shore, moon hidden in the small courtyard. Remember the beautiful woman with painted eyebrows, looks in the mirror, greets the dawn.','We are heartbroken in South Port, looking back at the blue gate. Remember the green cloak, everywhere, pitying the green grass.','He Zhu belonged to the nobility and even married a woman from the imperial family, but it is said that he looked very ugly, of course, this is not important, what matters is that he had a very high status in the Northern Song Ci circle, so to speak, only his mourning poems could be compared to Su Shi's, which shows his talent; he also loved his wife deeply, but we can hardly judge it now. This poem is written with great tenderness, and in just a few words, he depicts the pain of missing her and the sorrowful feelings.
Only those who have experienced love and truly loved someone can write with such tenderness. Many love poems in Song Ci seem deep, but the 'she' in the poems is obviously an image, meaning an imagined love. However, He Zhu's love poems are different, the 'she' in the poems must have existed in reality, otherwise he could not write so sincerely, just like picking up a word, but it has a direct impact on people.
The upper part of the poem is a relatively common writing technique, starting with scenery to evoke emotion. This writing style is not novel, but he makes it extremely poignant, which is precisely the most brilliant aspect of He Zhu's poetry. The upper part of the poem means that it is almost dawn, and the time is approaching the moment when the sky is just beginning to lighten. There are also gusts of east wind, making the willows along the distant road sway. The moonlight has been obscured by the clouds, and the wilderness is shrouded in mist. It is precisely in this environment that I cannot help but miss her. I imagine she must have also gotten up early, just as I was, and was also combing her hair in front of the mirror, missing me.

The lower part of the poem recalls the scenes of their separation, and is even more poignant. When we separated in South Port, we both cried, unwilling to part. Now thinking back to the scene of parting, which is especially touching. Since leaving the capital, I have always missed her, and every time I think of her, I am heartbroken. The most memorable is her green cloak. Even if I go to the ends of the earth and sea, I will never forget her. Every time I see green grass, I think of her green cloak, and naturally miss her.
He Zhu's poems are often delicate and deeply moving. 'Green Cloak·East Wind Willows' is written cleverly, and the poet uses scenery to express his longing for love, depicting it with delicate brushstrokes, green like clothing, so much so that he saw green grass, which was heartbroken and naturally missed his beloved, which shows how deeply he loved her.
