How to Correctly Recognize Yourself
Are you yourself? (Your ideal self)
Do you know yourself? (Your real self)
Do you truly know yourself? (Most people don't recognize themselves)
It's important to know yourself because it can prevent excessive ambition like 'higher than heaven, thinner than paper' and avoid a life of wasted potential like 'a pearl lost in the sea, buried in the sand'
How to correctly recognize yourself?
First, you need to introspect. Introspection is a rational, in-depth, and comprehensive analysis of oneself, a way and guarantee for personal growth, change, progress, and renewal. As Lu Xun said, 'I often dissect others, but I dissect myself even more mercilessly.' We must be strict with ourselves, honestly evaluate ourselves, and view our strengths and weaknesses, successes and failures, gains and losses, and truly become 'wise people'
One must start by recognizing oneself through work results. A person's moral character, demeanor, and work performance are interconnected. We should frequently ask ourselves: What have I contributed to society? Does my contribution align with the compensation I receive? Only through summarizing and reflecting on our practical experience and results can we identify gaps and overcome complacency. People should be valued for self-reflection, with a little humility and less arrogance, a little self-encouragement and less self-doubt. We need to combine diligent work with focused effort, motivated by the attitude of 'doing nothing for three days if we don't do anything in a day' to inspire us to work diligently and achieve something
Two. Recognize yourself through the journeys you've taken. A person's growth and development process is a continuous cycle of summarizing and improvement. Regularly review our path and process of growth, summarize successes and failures, identify shortcomings, and avoid repeating mistakes. We should look at our footprints – are they solid, or superficial? Footprints are not about wearing expensive clothes, having luxury watches, or riding a luxurious car. They are not empty rhetoric, high-profile titles, or arrogant airs. Through our journey, we can improve ourselves and correct our behavior, diligently maintain our appearance and prevent minor problems from escalating
Three. Recognize yourself through the opinions of others. 'A bitter medicine is beneficial to the patient; sincere criticism is beneficial to action.' Some people are complacent, feel good about themselves, and ignore the opinions of others. Others make mistakes but refuse to admit them, knowing they're wrong but afraid of criticism. We should be good at listening to different opinions, always maintain a clear head, and when we are criticized, we should learn from it and encourage each other. We should strive to emulate the virtuous and improve ourselves continuously.
