Life is like playing cards; even bad hands require careful play.

Sometimes life is like playing cards, the way you play is the way you live.

A good hand of cards might win if you play it right, but a bad hand needs careful play, because that's your only chance to win.

1. When you get a bad hand, don't get angry, just play it with care.

The probability of encountering a bad hand in life is like suffering from cancer – not everyone will experience it, but those who do will inevitably face a bad hand.

When facing such a bad hand, how should we deal with it? Complaining or accepting? It's up to us.

If complaining is helpful, then ask for a new deck of cards; if it's not, accept it, and think about how to play it to have a chance to win.

Just like cancer patients, when they're diagnosed, they often experience a period of anger. The source of their anger is 'Why me? Why cancer?' These questions are almost universal among cancer patients.

But after asking these questions…

The facts remain unchanged – 'We are sick, and we have cancer.'

Only acceptance and facing it can lead to a positive outcome.

Yet, some people continue to complain and are unwilling to accept reality.

I know a newly diagnosed patient. I was in the hospital with her during her treatment.

She had just returned from the United States when she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

She felt unwell and lacked energy because she was planning to return home soon, and hadn't checked it out at the local hospital, so it was a surprise when she found out she had such a serious illness. They couldn't understand it.

I talked to her husband, and he often said, 'How could this happen? It's unbelievable!'

Acceptance is a choice made by both the patient and their family – it doesn't matter what others say.

The couple often cried together, lamenting their situation. While we understand this emotional response, it's not conducive to her treatment, as it indicates despair.

This isn't to say that it's wrong to express feelings or complain, because it's realistic, but family members should stand up and offer hope to the patient. It's not about suggesting a positive approach, but about providing support,

2. Play with all your might, even if you don't necessarily win.

When you have a bad hand, you know the odds are against you, whether it's through carelessness or mistakes, or simply being unable to withstand the pressure. But what you can do is to fight to the end.

Even if the outcome isn't perfect, through effort and struggle, we can see the near-perfect progression curve,

Because there, we see ourselves truly live – not just for ourselves, but for life itself.

Truly living means facing this difficult reality as a cancer patient.Just as the classic prayer says:

Ask for a calm heart, to accept what cannot be changed, to give us courage to change what can be changed, and to give us wisdom to distinguish between the two.

First, accept the bad hand – it's an undeniable fact.

Second, change your approach – it's up to our choices.

Regardless of the circumstances, we have the right to choose. Choosing a new approach allows us to create our own miracles in life. It's not about empty slogans, but about a cancer patient wanting to live.

3. Even with a bad hand, fight to the end.

From the moment we receive this bad hand, we know the odds are stacked against us, whether due to carelessness, mistakes, or simply our inability to withstand the pressure.

But what we can do is to fight to the end.

Even if the outcome isn't perfect, through effort and struggle, we can see the near-perfect progression curve,

Because there, we see ourselves truly live – not just for ourselves, but for life itself.
