Your cat needs its own space – do you know?
Cats aren't inherently selfish animals, but sharing for them isn't always a good thing. Just like humans, there's the story of Kong Rong and the persimmons – generosity is a virtue, but not everything should be shared. However, if you have a multi-pet household, in some cases, asking your pets to share may cause them stress and potentially lead to behavioral issues. So, risk sounding impolite, sharing isn’t always a good thing for cats. As someone who owns three cat masters, here are a few suggestions.

This cat looks like a little fairy.
Feeding area
Although the several cat food bowls available now come with some initial distance from the factory, many cat owners still use a large bowl to feed them at any time. Even if the several cats in a household share a common bowl, it can still make them feel pressured.
Although using only one bowl is more convenient for us to clean up, when they eat from one bowl, that distance is not what they like. You need to know that they need to use their strength or lick to put the food in their mouth, which makes them need a certain feeding space. Otherwise, they will either reduce their intake or behavioral abnormalities.
Each cat should have its own food bowl, and the bowl should be placed at a certain distance, so that each cat can safely eat. In some cases, you may need to separate their bowls, such as when their food is of different kinds. You can even separate them into two rooms.
It's important for each cat to have its own bowl, which allows them to feed quantitatively, or you can know how much they eat.
Whether you feed on a time schedule or at random, ensure that the feeding area doesn’t cause them stress. Even if your cats like to lie together on the sofa or play together, it doesn’t mean they want to share food with other cats. By adjusting the distance of the food bowls, you can reduce many unnecessary troubles for your cats.

Food bowls are better when they are shared individually.
Cat litter box
We might think that cat litter boxes are just places for cats to eliminate, but for cats, they have more meanings. Scent plays an important role in cats’ daily lives. When we talk about cat litter boxes, cats usually just want to smell their own scent. Cats don’t like to poop in cat litter boxes because cats smell other cats’ scents or scents from several cat litter boxes are mixed, and they cause a reaction. Cat’s nose is very sensitive, so don’t underestimate them.
If the relationship between the cats in your home is not strong, it may cause them to reject the scent in the cat litter box. If there are not enough cat litter boxes, a cat may start guarding the cat litter box to prevent other cats from using it. Regarding more detailed cat litter box usage methods, please follow me to view the previous articles, which contain detailed introductions.
The basis for purchasing a cat litter box for a multi-cat household is: the number of cat litter boxes should be the same as the number of cats, and another one should be added. Now, the key comes. These cat litter boxes should be scattered around the house, so that a cat doesn’t have to go to the toilet in another cat’s area. If you have enough cat litter boxes and distribute them in different places, you have at least solved the problem of them simultaneously going to the toilet or short-term simultaneous going to the toilet. After all, it takes time for their scent to be diluted, so other cats may dislike the scent more and refuse to use the cat litter box. Then, your other places at home will be messed up.
Although you can’t completely control which cat litter box a cat uses, you can at least let them use it without sharing a common cat litter box. This is very helpful for harmonious multi-cat families.

Cat litter boxes are even better when they are shared individually.
Summary
Through the two aspects above, I have raised some suggestions that are not recommended for cats to share, including eating, drinking, defecating and urinating. It covers the most basic things they need in their daily lives. Toys they can share, and even collaborative hunting is their instinct. Of course, these are only necessary for multi-cat households. If you only have one cat master at home, there is no need to talk about sharing or not sharing.
The above is just a summary of some suggestions, perhaps there are other things I haven’t covered, welcome to discuss in the comment area. If you find my article helpful, please give a like and add a follow, thank you!
