Police and Public Unite to Rescue Injured Black-Necked Swan; Returns to Nature After Recovery
Protecting wild animals is the responsibility of us all. On the morning of April 8th, villagers in Guanda Town, Linwei District, discovered a large, pitch-black bird and immediately brought it to the local police station.

At the Linwei Forest Public Security Police Station, this red-beaked, red-eyed, and pitch-black bird appeared to be in relatively good spirits, except for a crack in its beak. Otherwise, it did not appear to be injured.

Linwei Forest Public Security Police Station Director Shen Weitao: "This morning, we received a 110 dispatch about discovering a large bird in my district’s Guanda Town. My police officers immediately responded to the scene. At that time, the bird had already been delivered to the Guanda Police Station. After carefully comparing and verifying the scene, we preliminarily identified this large bird as the black-necked swan, a national second-level protected animal."

According to reports, black-necked swans are native to Australia and are an important member of the swan family. They were later introduced to China.
Linwei Forest Public Security Police Station Director Shen Weitao: "After identifying the black-necked swan, we found that its head was slightly injured and was no serious. It was in good spirits, so we brought it to the Forest Public Security Police Station for careful feeding and observation for two days. If it meets the conditions for release, we will promptly return it to nature."

Here, we thank the police officers for their efforts in protecting wild animals, and we also applaud the villagers who discovered and protected these injured wild animals. Let us all work together to protect the diversity of the ecosystem.
