Changzi County Jingwei Lake National Wetland Park Welcomes Over 80 Greater White Swans
The earth is reviving, and spring is flourishing. On March 12th, monitoring personnel at the Changzi Jingwei Lake National Wetland Park Management Center discovered over 80 Greater White Swans foraging and resting in the wetland park.

Greater White Swans are a migratory bird belonging to the order Anseriformes, the duck family, and the swan tribe. They have a large body size, with a body length of 120-160 cm and a wingspan of 218-243 cm, weighing 8-12 kg, and a lifespan of 20-25 years. They often travel in family groups and mainly feed on aquatic plants' leaves, stems, seeds, and rhizomes.


Changzi County's good ecological environment and abundant aquatic plants and animals provide a comfortable habitat for wild birds. In particular, in recent years, through wetland protection and restoration, has greatly improved and enhanced the ecological environment of Jingwei Lake wetland, and the wetland bird habitat has been effectively restored, creating good conditions for bird nesting and breeding, attracting a variety of precious wild birds every year to rest here. Sensitive to ecological factors, the migratory birds cast 'trust votes' on Jingwei Lake's ecological environment.
According to authoritative sources, this spring, the migration time of in Changzhi is relatively early, and currently it is also the peak migration season for spring. These Greater White Swans flew from the Yellow River wetland - Henan Sanmenxia to Jingwei Lake National Wetland Park, and then passed through Tunliu, Xiangyuan, and Qin County before continuing north to their final destination in Siberia.
