Loud Gaggling Continues, A 'Wild Duck Lake' Appears Outside the Second Ring Road in Beijing
The spring river warms, and the ducks know it first. In recent days, wild ducks have appeared in the city's rivers and lakes. Places like Shichahai, Aushen Park, Yiheyuan, and Yuanyantang, which have larger bodies of water, attract many wild ducks every year.
Recently, a reporter discovered thatLocated outside the Second Ring Road and not a large area, the park in Dongcheng District, Liu Yin Park, has also become a haven for wild ducks.Various types of wild ducks playing in the water and occasionally issuing a 'gaga gaga' chorus, adding a lot of lively atmosphere to the city's spring.

Liu Yin Park is famous for willows, with more than 10 species of willow trees and thousands of trees planted in the park. In early spring, the willow branches are green and tender, swaying gracefully in the wind, which is particularly beautiful.
But this year, the most eye-catching thing in Liu Yin Park is the lively wild ducks. Yesterday afternoon, with sunshine and warmth, the ducks in the reeds came out in droves, forming groups to wander in the water, totaling about 30-40.
Although they are wild visitors, these ducks are not restrained at all. Some lie with their heads buried in their wings, while others dive into the water to catch small fish. Some wander in pairs among the reeds, whispering secrets, and some fly up suddenly, creating a graceful 'crossing willow' and then landing in another water area.

'Why so many wild ducks this year?' Most of the visitors to the park are residents living nearby, and they are curious about the significant increase in the number of wild ducks. It also makes them feel very happy. Seeing the 'duck' children are even more excited and shouting. Many tourists stop to take pictures of the wild ducks. The 'gaga gaga' chorus on the water is often heard, adding a lot of excitement to the park.

The increase in the number of wild ducks is related to the overall good urban ecological environment and the increasing awareness of protecting wild animals. In the past few years, many newly built parks in Beijing with water have attracted wild ducks and other water birds. Among them, the Xiaowu Wetland in the center of the Olympic Village, although small, has successfully attracted a wild duck couple to build a nest on the river bank, and last year a group of ducklings hatched there.
If there is water, there is food, and there is a home, there will be wild animals like ducks. Reporters learned from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Parks and Greenery that the city is currently formulating a graded protection plan for urban wild plants and animals. With the implementation of more ecological protection measures, more 'duck lakes' will appear both inside and outside the city.
