Appreciation of World Famous Racing Pigeons – Thirty-Eight: The Wandewegen Pigeon Lineage
Dove lineage source and characteristics
In the early 1950s of the 50th year, Wandewegen began to introduce Yang Aten's pigeons. However, the most famous pigeon breed in the Wandewegen pigeon lineage came from a male pigeon introduced from the Lentenbergh kennel. This male pigeon had half Yang Aten blood and half Dierba blood. I have previously introduced the pigeon lineages of Yang Aten and Dierba, so I will not elaborate on their lineage characteristics here. Interested friends can find them in the previous two chapters.
Wandewegen pigeon lineage has a characteristic: the better the harsh climate environment, the better their performance. When other pigeons give up, they will still persist until they die without returning. This characteristic is passed down through generations in the Wandewegen pigeon lineage.
To today's 5 major international competitions, if there is no Wandewegen bloodline pigeon in the top ten in any year and any session, that competition certainly will not be held on Earth.
Excellent champion pigeons
The Wandewegen pigeon lineage's pigeon that still influences and forms its own lineage is 'Oude Doffertje', also known as 'Old Doffertje' in China. Many pigeon enthusiasts will recognize this pigeon. He was bought back by Wandewegen from Lentenbergh kennel with a pair of eggs at a considerable price, of which one pigeon.
