1*Cultural History
According to legend, the origin of Huanmadai is that during the late Western Han Dynasty, Wang Mang’s imperial army chased Liu Xiu. Liu Xiu’s war horse was exhausted and finally ran to Huanmadai. There was once a similar institution like an inn or station with horse raising, exchanging horses for horses, which allowed him to continue escaping. After Liu Xiu became emperor, he established a series of villages, and Huanmadai got its name from this. There are also Huangtui, Zangzhuang, and Jiliangzhuang, all named from this.
2*Development History
In 1958, Huanmadai People's Commune was established, and in 1983, it was changed into a town. In 1997, its area was 62.6 square kilometers and its population was 45,000. It was later changed into a town.
In terms of industry
Huanmadai Town's individual private economy is developing rapidly. The town has 5 large enterprises, 98 small and medium-sized enterprises, of which 5 enterprises have a value of more than 10 million yuan, and 4 enterprises have a value of more than 30 million yuan. There are 1117 stalls. In 2004, the total output value of town and township enterprises reached 846 million yuan, forming five main industries with machine parts, flour, casting, clothing and chemical industry as the main industries.
