Modern Poetry \| Nostalgia in a Photograph
Author: Step Snow Seeking Plum
Ten Years of Time
Your Appearance Was Marked by Age and Experience
That Version of You
Your Face Radiated a Confident Grace

Our First Encounter
You Were at the Peak of Your Physique and Beauty
Your Eyes Captivated My Gaze
I Couldn't Resist Kissing You
The Lingering Marks on Your Lips
A Memory That Would Haunt Me Forever

I Would Flip Through Your Old Photos
They Triggered a Flood of Memories
I Went to Extraordinary Lengths to Contact You
Only to Discover You Were Already Married
Your Charm Had Diminished
Yet That Infatuation Remained
We Would Tease Each Other
And Realized Our Lives Were a Misguided Encounter

Perhaps It Was Because You Were Impossible to Forget
Or Maybe It Was to Witness Your Present Form
Or Perhaps It Was Just a Familiarity
Time Passes, Leaving Only Dust
The Wheel of Time Doesn't Remember
Just a Trace of Dust
The River of Years Flows Through Our Hearts
Not a Torrent of Passion
Nor a Refuge of Nostalgia
But an Experience
A Photograph Has Been Displayed in My Space for Ten Years
Now I Realize Its Significance
Not Because of Deep Feelings
But as a Witness to Life's Passage
