Having a Small Courtyard and Nurturing Flowers and Grasses – That's All That Matters

I yearn for life,

it's having a small courtyard,

nurturing flowers and grasses,

and growing old with you bit by bit…

No matter how big or small the courtyard is,

it's a dream little paradise,

I will fill it with flowers and plants,

making life better day by day.

In my spare time, I put down my phone,

and spend time with flowers and plants in the courtyard,

watching tender shoots emerge one by one,

and watching flowers bloom in their full glory.

I no longer think about family gossip and work worries,

only caring about the weather, watering, and soil,

putting in every drop of sweat in the courtyard,

yielding beautiful rewards.

This is why I love to stay in the courtyard,

it's a free space for gardeners,

where you can indulge your imagination and achieve your dreams.

I'll build a simple flower porch,

plant a tall wisteria vine,

when the wisteria blooms,

it reminds me of the 'wisteria vine waterfall' in my reading times.

I'll plant roses along the wall,

often pruning and fertilizing them,

waiting for a dreamy flower wall to emerge.

I'll plant a fragrant white magnolia,

smelling the fragrance of the flowers makes me feel like I'm back in the days when,

my mother would pick one of these ivory-white flowers,

and clip it into her hair ornament.

In the dark corner of the courtyard,

I'll plant a row of hydrangeas,

in the dappled shade of the trees,

one by one, flowers bloom brightly.

And according to the seasons,

raise some chrysanthemums, snapdragons, and long-lasting flowers…

Buy some unnamed flower seeds,

scatter them in the courtyard, and it becomes a sea of flowers,

Although my gardening skills aren't great,

I always want to experiment in the courtyard.

People say parents are the best teachers,

my child spends every day watching me grow flowers,

and also fell in love with plants,

I'll give him a few cute succulents,

let him slowly experience the process of growth.

Changing soil, potting, watering, fertilizing…

He even does it in a quite skillful manner,

and insists on keeping a record every day,

I'm so pleased and admiring!

Although the courtyard is not big,

besides planting flowers, we also plant vegetables and fruits,

A grape vine in front of the porch,

providing shade in the summer and eating fruit, isn't that wonderful?

In the spring, we'll plant small cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers…

Everyone in the family likes these vegetables,

Chinese people are indeed genetically predisposed to growing vegetables,

If there's nothing to do, we must plant a few more trees.

Gardening and growing vegetables – self-sufficient and creating a life with our own hands,

Every flower is beautiful, every fruit is sweet.

Time in the courtyard doesn't pass quickly,

Fortunately, every day's persistence and effort pay off now,

When I'm free,

the whole family sits in the courtyard,

with more understanding and care for each other,

For holidays, I invite a few friends,

shopping and mahjong are out of style,

appreciating flowers and drinking tea in the courtyard is truly relaxing.

If I have nothing to do,

I'll cut a few flower stems and arrange them in vases,

we'll take a flower arranging class too.

A life in the courtyard,

with flowers and plants, with friends and family,

away from the emptiness of the internet and the noise of daily life,

makes it even more rustic and precious.

You can look up to the sky, clouds rolling and unfolding,

and look down at flowers and plants, blooming and falling,

enjoying the tranquility and nature of the courtyard,

making life more beautiful and serene.
