Dog Becomes Obese Due to Eating Trash, Health Improved After Controlling Food Intake

According to British 'The Sun' reported on February 26, a Chihuahua dog named Cleatus has become addicted to eating junk food due to its bad habits. As it gets older, it no longer likes to go for walks, and its weight is gradually increasing. It has reached an astonishing 23 pounds (13 kilograms), causing it to be unable to walk and needing to be pushed around in a cart.
Owner Austin Lee and Laura Norton took Cleatus to the vet because of its excessive obesity. The vet told them that the dog was suffering from hyperthyroidism, which caused weight gain. Cleatus's metabolism slowed down, so it felt very sleepy, which was also the reason for its lack of energy. In May 2018, Cleatus received medication and started to strictly control its diet.
Cleatus only has five minutes to eat each meal, and it often wakes up its owners in the morning, begging for more food. After a while, its weight finally dropped to a healthy 12 pounds (7 kilograms), and now it can walk and play normally again. Laura said, 'Humans should avoid eating junk food because we know junk food is bad for our health, and dogs are the same, we need to pay attention to healthy eating.'
