During the Spring Equinox, Westxiang County is filled with vibrant spring scenery.

Look, green fields, willows are green, birds are singing and grasses are flourishing, wheat is budding, rapeseed flowers are fragrant, and peach and apricot blossoms are in full bloom.

Birds sing and flowers bloom, everything is thriving.

The areas along the Mima River, including the Xiaikou Wenxi and Sanhua Shi, are home to white egrets, night herons, common teals, mandarin ducks, and other flocks of birds. Some are foraging on the ground, while others dance in the wind. Birds sing in the forests, and water birds glide over the wetlands, creating a beautiful picture of harmony between humans and nature.

White egrets, a national level II protected animal, also known as 'white herons,' were praised by ancient poets as 'two white herons singing on emerald willows.'

White egrets are naturally beautiful with long legs and necks and long bills. Their feathers are as white as snow, like a beautiful princess.

Common teals, a national level II protected animal, belong to the duck family. They are known for their distinctive black markings on their heads.
They are similar in size to geese, with orange beaks, black lips, and orange legs and feet. Their wings are gray-brown, with brown irises and orange beaks. Their beaks are black at the tip, and their feet are orange-yellow.

They can fly to heights of 8000 meters or more, flying 300 to 500 kilometers daily, making them top-level athletes among birds.

Night herons, a national level III protected animal, are medium-sized wading birds that inhabit streams, ponds, rivers, swamps, and rice paddies in plains and low mountains. They are nocturnal, preferring to feed at night. They live in flocks and primarily eat fish, frogs, shrimp, and other aquatic insects.

They are found in Europe, Africa, and extending eastward through the Middle East, India, Indonesia, Central and Southern Asia, reaching the Russian Far East, Korea, and Japan.

Mandarin ducks (a national level I protected animal), formerly known as 'white herons,' are medium-sized birds with white plumage and a long, willow-shaped feather crest on their heads. Their bare skin on their forehead and face is bright red.

Shaanxi is the 'hometown' of mandarin ducks. The beautiful Qinling Mountains are the ideal home for their breeding and development. One of the four treasures of the Qinling Mountains, and a world treasure!

Mandarin ducks typically inhabit forests at altitudes of 1200-1400 meters, preferring to wade and walk in nearby streams, marshes, and rice paddies to forage for small fish, crabs, frogs, and snails. They also eat insects. They rest and sleep in tall trees.
