Finding a Grade II Protected Animal, the Grey Siberian Owl, During Construction: Bird Enthusiasts Rescued and Released it
On March 3rd, at 3 PM, bird enthusiast Guo Jinxiong received a phone call from a friend and subsequently sent two photos.

It turned out that Zhao, his friend, discovered a large bird flying wildly inside a construction site storefront when he started work this morning. Due to the tightly closed windows in the construction site, the bird would occasionally bump into the glass windows and fall down. After several people jointly caught the bird, they subsequently contacted Guo Jinxiong to send photos.

After identification by other bird enthusiasts, it was identified as one of the owls (a type of cat owl), which is a national level two protected wild animal. Due to the bird's injury, they immediately prepared to rescue it.
To increase the confidence in the rescue work, the bird enthusiasts contacted Du Jinghua, the vice president of Xi'an Wild Birds Association, who has extensive experience in bird rescue, and explained the situation to him.
Upon hearing this, Du Jinghua immediately said that he could rush to Tongchuan to rescue it together. After Du Jinghua's on-site identification, the bird was identified as a grey Siberian owl.

Du Jinghua carefully examined the grey Siberian owl's head, back, crop, wings, and claws after a detailed inspection on the construction site and conducted a test flight to confirm that the grey Siberian owl had no injuries and was in good condition.

To help the grey Siberian owl return to nature as soon as possible, everyone took the grey Siberian owl to a spacious area near the forest in Zhao Zhai River Valley, Yuhuangge Wetland, and released it.

It rested in the forest not far away,

Through the release process and the subsequent observation for nearly an hour, they confirmed that the grey Siberian owl's condition was normal and could adapt to wild life, and then withdrew from the release location, achieving a complete success in the rescue operation.
