Shiyan, Hubei: Sprites Dancing on Cliff Faces
On March 19, 2020, a large flock of white egrets began building nests on a cliff face on the banks of the Han River in Yuyang District, Shenyang City, Hubei Province, dancing gracefully in the beautiful spring sunshine. Yuyang District is a core source water area for the South-North Water Diversion Project, and in recent years, the district has continuously increased efforts in comprehensive ecological governance and implemented the strictest ecological protection policies. The sky in Yuyang is getting bluer, and the water in the Han River is getting clearer, and the vegetation along the banks of the Han River is becoming increasingly lush, creating a good ecological environment that has attracted a large number of rare migratory birds to gather and breed.
