According to the captain of the rescue team, Mr. Niu Zhenxi, on March 22nd at about 10 am, the rescue team received a call stating that someone had found a gray-necked gull trapped in the north side of the Water Police Station's canal and another gray-necked gull stood by. Zhengdong District Water Police Station personnel and Zhengzhou Forest Police Wild Animal Rescue Station animal experts Dong Chaowei arrived on site one after another. They were worried that it wouldn't be easy to hurt the gulls, so they contacted the rescue team. At that time, Mr. Wang Relin and some of the core members who were invited to participate in the rescue in Anhui, quickly gathered Wang Relin, Liu Zhengjun and other members who stayed in Zhengzhou, carrying relevant equipment and quickly rushed to rescue.

They found that the two gulls were tightly huddled in the canal north of the Water Police Station. The water was not deep, and the surface of the water floated with long strands of silk. They were worried about using a net to capture the gulls, and Wang Relin and the deputy captain of the rescue team, Qin Deling, discussed it, and decided to use the blockade method.
After entering the water, Mr. Wang Relin plunged into the water with one swoop, holding one with each hand, and caught the two gulls. The onlookers watched and applauded as the gulls were picked up. 'After being caught, the gulls struggled frantically. Gray-necked gulls have great strength, and they scratched my arms.' Mr. Wang Relin said.
Under the cooperation of Mr. Wang Relin and his teammates and onlookers, the two gray-necked gulls were brought to shore. Animal expert Dong Chaowei examined them and said that they were two gray-necked gulls, one of which was a female gull dropped by a tourist's kite line wrapped around its feet and wings, and it was pinched, causing it to swim and hunt unable to normal. Fortunately, it was rescued and treated in a timely manner, and there was nothing serious.
Subsequently, the two gray-necked gulls were released back into nature. Watching the two gray-necked gulls freely swimming on the lake, everyone showed relief smiles. The reporter learned that gray-necked gulls have only one companion in their lifetime, and are regarded as the model of loyalty. People's timely rescue also changed the fate of these two gulls.
After this rescue, the members of the Zhengzhou Red Cross Water Rescue Team called for more tourists to visit and enjoy the scenery in the spring, pay attention to personal safety, and also protect the natural environment, be kind to wild animals, do not disturb, do not feed, do not chase, and do not leave kite lines that may harm them. This will give more wild animals a chance to settle in Zhengzhou.
