On the afternoon of March 10th, Li Yong, the property manager of Sanhe ZiDongyuan Community located on the west section of City Culture Road, discovered a 'surprise visitor' in the underground parking lot: with a yellowish-gray fur, and white stripes on its face, it was lying on the ground with a dejected expression.
The unexpected visitor quickly attracted the curiosity of residents of the community. On-duty security guards and residents wearing masks rushed to the scene to watch, but no one knew what this animal was.
What kind of adorable little animal is this? Li Yong dialed the Forestry Department's phone. Subsequently, Li Hongliang, a worker from the Nanhai Animal Park in the city, arrived. After examining it, he said that this animal is a 'three-exist' protected animal (land wild animals of important ecological, scientific, and social value that are protected), but not a key protected animal. They primarily inhabit forests, shrubs, caves, tree holes, or earth dens, are adept at climbing, move quickly, and mainly eat wild fruits and grains. The fruit bat was lethargic, likely due to prolonged hunger or illness, and needed a period of human care before it could be safely released.
