Fujian Junzi Peak National Nature Reserve was established in February 2, 2003, and in January 2008, it was approved as a national-level nature reserve by the State Council. The reserve is located in the middle section of the Wuyi Mountains, east of Dongpo, across Fujian Province's northwest and southeast, involving the townships of Fengxi, Xiafang, Gaoyang, Shaoxi and Xiangyang in Mingxi County, together with Fujian Longqi National Nature Reserve and Fujian Minjiang Source National Nature Reserve, forming an important part of the middle section of the Wuyi Mountains Nature Reserve. The total area of the reserve is more than 18,000 hectares.


Here there are large areas of low-latitude low-altitude original evergreen broadleaf forest ecosystems, a large number of natural medicinal plant germplasm resources, valuable timber germplasm resources, abundant insect resources and rare endangered species. Its typical ecosystem and unique geographical location play an important role in improving the environment, maintaining soil and water, replenishing water sources, regulating climate and maintaining ecological balance.



Junzi Peak Nature Reserve has abundant biodiversity, the area has dense forests, peaks and valleys, mountains and valleys, complex and diverse ecosystems, which nurture and preserve rich wild plants and animals. The area preserves national Level I protected plants and animals such as Southern Red Boschee, Wisteria, Ginkgo, Yellow-bellied Crowned Peacock, White-necked Long-tailed Peacock, Mingnan Cypress, Jiangnan Cypress, Fig Tree, Pangolin, Black Bear, Macaque Monkeys, White Storks, Insect Resources and other natural resources.



Fujian Junzi Peak National Nature Reserve not only has rich plant and animal resources, unique ecological environment and favorable natural conditions, but also has a large number of beautiful natural landscapes and unique folk customs, among which Stone Turtles Exploring the Sea, 'Sleeping Beauty', Flying Stones (Zen Master's Resting Place), Longji Waterfall, Longhu Bao Waterfall, Yunfeng Temple have become wonders and cultural accumulation representatives.
