Critically Endangered Blue-Headed Duck Spotted in Heilongjiang!
Longshan News (Yu Xiyang): Since March, my province has entered the bird migration season. Recently, the Taihu National Wetland has been successively receiving returning migratory birds. Among them, the globally less than 1000 critically endangered Blue-headed Duck, currently 30+ individuals have been found in the Taihu wetland.

Heilongjiang Taihu National Wetland Park is located in Tai’er County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, East, it is a 4A-level tourist scenic area and a national water landscape scenic area. The Taihu National Wetland Park has seen a steady increase in bird populations and numbers in recent years, with flocks of Canada geese, Black Spoonbills, White Egrets, Grey Herons, Oriental White Storks, and other birds residing there. According to wetland monitoring personnel and photographers, Blue-headed Ducks have been recorded in Taihu Wetland since 2015, with an increasing trend. The Taihu National Wetland Park plays an important role in protecting biodiversity and protecting ecological balance.
