This 'Cat Star' Master of Lockpicking and Escapes with Rescue Shelter Cats
Every cat from each household has its own unique characteristics, but let's ask a question: Does your cat open the door? I bet nine out of ten people would raise their hands.
This cat named Quilty is a master of opening doors.
Actually, it wouldn't even be exaggerating to say it doesn't open doors in its own home; the issue is that Quilty is currently at a rescue station, with many cats in the room. Whenever it opens a door, that guy would let the entire room of cats escape!
The rescue station staff says that this guy gets more and more adept at it—as soon as it opens a door, it does so with the speed of a thunderbolt, letting the entire room of cats run out. It probably even shouted, 'Freedom!!!'
And this isn't a random occurrence; there have been so many escape incidents over the course of a day that the staff is exhausted from catching cats. It's all Quilty's fault.
You can't keep it locked up alone, though, because besides opening doors, it hasn't done anything wrong.
It was particularly fond of opening the doors for the neighbor's dogs to go out to play in its previous home. This 'good habit' has continued to this day, but it's benefiting the other cats in the room, while causing a headache for the staff.
Eventually, volunteers started standing outside the door to watch it. As soon as it started fidgeting, they would rush over to 'warn' it, and Quilty would back down.
But constantly watching it isn't a solution. So, they simply set up a mechanism at the door so that even if it opens the doorknob, the door is blocked from opening.
