Indian Monkeys Destroy Farms, Baby Monkeys Left Homeless, Cuddle with Dog

In China, monkeys are explicitly banned from being hunted, and monkeys are very popular because of their cute appearance. However, the fate of monkeys is not the same in other countries. According to a report by The Mirror on March 18, an Indian man, Prakash Badal, photographed a funny scene on the street: a little monkey cuddling beside a dog, as if the dog were its mother.

Last year, the state of Himachal Pradesh in India declared monkeys as pests and allowed them to be hunted in certain areas. Therefore, a female monkey was recently killed by people for chewing and destroying crops. And its baby monkey, which was only 10 days old, died because it lost its mother. But soon, it found a new mother, which is this dog.

According to Prakash Badal, who took the photo, this dog is now pregnant, so it should especially understand the importance of a mother. Fortunately, the dog and the little monkey get along very well, whether the little monkey climbs on its back or nests in its lap, and allows it to ride on its neck and pick fleas. The little monkey really seems to regard this dog as its mother.

According to Times of India, in a 45-degree heat in India, 15 monkeys died because they lacked water, because their rivals blocked them from getting water. Last June, more than ten bodies of macaques were found around a cave in Madhya Pradesh.

Investigators believe that after monkeys cannot get enough water, there may be a conflict between competing monkey groups, which may have led to the death of half the monkeys living in the cave. Regional Forest Officer PN Mishra said: 'We are investigating all possibilities, including the possibility of a monkey group fighting for water in the forest, which may have led to the death of half the monkeys living in the cave.'
