Canadian Police Warn Drivers: Doing This Will Result in Heavy Fines
ICBC and the BC RCMP recently reminded the public that holding their pets while driving will result in hefty fines!

Saanich police reminded drivers that according to ICBC regulations, if pets are not secured in a vehicle, drivers face a $109 fine plus points deduction.
Especially for pet lovers who like to have cats and dogs on their laps while driving, there is a greater risk of accidents.
Not just on the lap!
Furthermore, large dogs sitting in the passenger seat if they obstruct the driver's view can also cause accidents and result in a $109 fine and 3 points deduction.
Drivers who attempt to let pets wander around in the car while driving will face higher fines: $368 plus 6 points.
It is understandable that pet owners love their animals, but please keep them in a safe place in the car and secure them properly.
If not secured properly, like this one in the back of the pickup truck, it is dangerous for the pet's safety, and it will also be penalized!

However, police also emphasized that the police's goal is not to issue tickets but to educate drivers to prevent harm and completely avoid violations.
Recently, police and ICBC have also been educating drivers: ‘Whistler is beautiful, but a ticket might just cover your vacation!’
