On March 10, Field Assistant Yan Jianbin of Flag Ridge Farm photographed the white-tailed sea eagle's spring return to Nalu River. 'At that time, we discovered three white-tailed sea eagles, they were stationed in a small stream within the Nalu River Protection Zone, and as we were preparing for observation, the vigilant white-tailed sea eagles discovered us and then flew to the nearby grassland.' Yan Jianbin told reporters that in recent years, they could observe white-tailed sea eagles every year, they mainly ate rats and fish. Three years ago, in the spring, he photographed the white-tailed sea eagle catching fish.

The senior engineer of Heilongjiang Nalu River National Nature Reserve, Zhang Fengjiang, often observes and collects in the protection zone. Everyone calls him the 'watcher' of the migratory birds of Nalu River. Birds are very vigilant, and last spring, due to the heavy morning mist, he and the white-tailed sea eagle had a 'close' observation opportunity.

'Previously, we couldn't get this close, due to the heavy mist, both sides couldn't see each other clearly, until we gradually approached, it was discovered.' Zhang Fengjiang said, 'The duck flocks discovered us first, and quickly took flight and scattered. The two white-tailed sea eagles, however, didn't panic at all, they flew up slowly and calmly.'

Subsequently, Zhang Fengjiang saw the remaining ducks and wild chickens at the white-tailed sea eagle's stopover. He estimated that the duck flock had been frightened by the white-tailed sea eagle eating its kind.

'At around 2 pm that afternoon, we discovered 2 birds resembling white-tailed sea eagles feeding on the opposite bank of Nalu River, upon closer inspection, there were 4 more birds in the nearby bushes.' Yang Ronggui told reporters, after they immediately set up machines for observation and sent photos to, they confirmed that it was indeed a white-tailed sea eagle. In the following days, Yang Ronggui and his colleagues repeatedly went to this place for observation, the six white-tailed sea eagles stayed for more than a week and then flew away.

Previously, Yang Ronggui discovered more than 100 flocks of little swan in the protection zone in 2016, and observed a large cluster of more than 700 Oriental White Cranes in 2015. Yang Ronggui also organized the eight five three farm photography bird-loving association, members of whom spontaneously protected birds, rescued injured wild birds and cleared nets to rescue trapped wild birds and released them, Thousand flocks of white swans in Qianchuo Lake wetland, photography by Yan Jianbin in 2019 autumn
By this year, the Nalu River Protection Zone has been observing the migratory track of white-tailed sea eagles for consecutive years. Its appearance fully demonstrates that the Nalu River Protection Zone has a relatively rich and complete ecological chain, as well as sufficient natural resources to support its survival. At the same time, the protection zone has observed phenomena such as Oriental White Crane, Crimson Crowned Crane, White Swan, Grey Heron, Little Swan as a national key protected wild animal for super-large or large clusters continuously. It is introduced that in 2017-2019, the protection zone organized about 4000 patrol personnel, 1200 more vehicles, 400 drones, and nearly 165,000 kilometers of patrol routes, covering 160,000 hectares of the protection zone.
