Give Every Wild Animal Its Due Living Space

Write this article, with the photo of this young deer as the cover. Look at it, its round eyes seem to be looking at you, how cute and innocent. You wouldn’t think that the next moment it might be slaughtered, cut throat in pain and bloodshed, skinned, flayed, and finally eaten into the greedy mouths.

Not just deer, monkeys, hedgehogs, newts, foxes, pangolins, raccoon dogs, snakes, sparrows... how many edible and inedible creatures have ended up on the table, and are called ‘live killing’. For me, a person with a too soft heart, I cannot understand why some people are so eager to eat them. These beings that should have been free to live in their own spaces are hunted, bound, only to satisfy sinful cravings and distorted inner minds.

It is true that killing is necessary in nature. The strong survive, which is a rule of survival. Humans are already the masters of this planet, at the top of all food chains, and can kill and eliminate any species. However, this should not be a reason for doing whatever one wants. We should respect nature, which is a virtue that any nation’s civilization should have. Humans used to practice slash-and-burn agriculture and lived on raw meat, and through wisdom, we conquered nature and tamed pigs, sheep, cattle, dogs, and chickens. Eating their meat was a result of our survival, and it is not enough to refute the fact that some people have put edible creatures on their table, especially in China, a 5000-year-old civilization, there is such a heinous habit.

Nature is fair. Arrogance and selfishness will inevitably bring about a doubled retribution. The Chinese have paid a heavy price for this. After the scars of the 2003 SARS epidemic were just removed, the same trick was repeated again. I really want to ask, when will these bad habits be changed?

Heaven follows its own laws; cause and effect are interconnected. Treating living beings with kindness is treating ourselves with kindness. If one day humans are driven to the point where they are hunted, skinned, and cut throat like wild animals, can people see tears of pity in the desperate eyes of their longing for life?

Don’t disturb them, give them the space to live freely.
