First Pair of Captive Giant Panda Twins Born Globally in 2020

Xinhua News Agency, Chengdu, March 18 (reporter Yu Li) reporters on March 18th from the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding learned that the giant panda 'Fuwa' (nickname: Mao Mao, pedigree number: 570) safely gave birth to a pair of male panda twins on March 17th, accompanied by experts and staff. This is also the first pair of captive pandas born globally in 2020.
At 12:57 on March 17th, the giant panda 'Fuwa' successfully gave birth to a male cub, with a birth weight of 159.8 grams; at 15:10 on the same day, it gave birth to a second cub, with a birth weight of 119.5 grams, male. Both cubs are currently showing normal indicators and are successfully feeding on their mother's milk, with loud calls and very healthy bodies.
