First Sika Deer 'Silhouette' Spotted in Manrao Nature Reserve of Xishuangbanna Nature Reserve
Recently, professional technicians at the Manrao Management Division of the Xishuangbanna Nature Reserve discovered a suspected sika deer photo while collecting and sorting infrared camera monitoring data. After expert identification by the Kunming Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, it was confirmed that the sika deer's 'figure' was first discovered and photographed within the Manrao Nature Reserve.

In recent years, the Manrao Management Division has continuously strengthened its resource protection and management efforts, providing a safe environment for the survival of wild animals. In order to better protect wild animals and familiarize themselves with their activity patterns, the division has been conducting continuous infrared camera monitoring work since 2016, constantly capturing a large number of wild animals such as Indian bison, sika deer, white stork, macaque, raccoon dog, and leopard cat images and video materials. The acquisition of sika deer photos in the area is of great significance for advancing biodiversity conservation.
