Baoji Police and Citizens Team Up to Rescue a Strange Bird – Do You Know It?
On March 6th, a red-crested cock was accidentally injured and fell into a villager's home in Tiaoxia Village, Fengxiang County. Villagers, police officers, and forestry workers jointly rescued it.

That morning, villager Liu discovered a 'strange bird' with a wounded wing beside a haystack in his backyard and it was making a series of 'chirping' sounds. He was hesitant to handle it himself and sought help from the police station officers.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police officers saw that the 'strange bird' was entirely black, with a small body size, resembling a wild rooster, but with a long tail. The police officers, together with the villagers, used a net to capture the bird, and after the forestry staff arrived at the scene, in order to treat the 'strange bird'.
After identification by the forestry staff, the 'strange bird' was actually called a red-crested cock, a land-dwelling wild animal living by the water's edge, which is a national level two protected animal.
Currently, the injured red-crested cock has been taken back to the Fengxiang County Forestry Bureau for treatment, and will be released back into nature after recovery.
