Wild Boar Infestation Causes Disaster; Man Kills 7 Pigs, Heaviest Weighing 443 Jin

During a period of rising pork prices, wild boars are rampant in Texas, USA. A hunter and his companion shot seven wild boars at once, the heaviest one weighing 488 pounds (approximately 443 jin), and the other six averaged 250 pounds (approximately 227 jin). Animal experts say that global warming is causing an increase in the number of wild boars.

Joel-Daddley and Mike-Hakabai are from Texas, USA, and they are both hunters. To curb the number of wild boars in the area, they shot seven wild boars on Saturday night, with the largest one weighing 488 pounds (approximately 443 jin), and the other six averaged 250 pounds (approximately 227 jin).
Daddley said: "We eliminated some wild boars because there were too many of them."
Daddley and Hakabai used thermal imaging to hunt, which is different from using traps or hounds. Daddley said: "We saw this wild boar standing near a pond. Even from a distance, we could tell it was huge in size. We walked towards it, and when we were 20 yards away, we opened fire."
In East Texas, where Daddley has been hunting for more than 15 years, this wild boar was the largest one he had ever hunted.

In East Texas, wild boars are becoming increasingly serious problems. Christine-Rollins was bitten by wild boars in November 2019, when she was only a few steps away from her home.
Jack-May, a wildlife biologist who has been studying wild boars for 40 years, told the media that global warming has increased the survival rate of newborn piglets. They can start breeding twice a year when they are three months old.
