Extremely Rare! Endangered Species #White-eyed Dabbler Spotted in Shanglu Danyang River
Recently, the Diliangshan Reservoir in Shanglu has begun releasing water, with clear Danyang River flowing around the city, and the riverside scenery is magnificent. Photographer Wang Xiaoning accidentally discovered that there were dark ducks swimming in the Danyang River, with very obvious white eyes. It turned out that he inadvertently photographed the international red endangered species—White-eyed Dabbler. It was the first time that White-eyed Dabblers had been observed in the Danyang River, indicating that the natural ecological protection of the Danyang River basin has achieved significant results in recent years.
White-eyed Dabbler belongs to the order Anseriformes, the duck family, and the Dabbler subfamily. The body is round, the head is large, it rarely calls, it is a deep-water bird, good at gathering wings and diving. It lives in swamps and freshwater lakes, is shy and cautious, and belongs to migratory birds. It arrives at its breeding grounds from early April to mid-April.
