US Farm Protection Area Seeks Volunteers to Provide Services for Pigs, Including Belly Rubs and Cookie Feeding, with 100,000 Sign-Ups

According to a report by The Daily Mail on February 3rd, a protected area called Cotton Branch Farm in South Carolina is seeking volunteers to provide emotional services for pigs, with services ranging from scratching bellies to companionship to feeding them cookies.


It is reported that this animal sanctuary is recruiting loving friends of animals to experience the joy of raising pigs, they can be with their pigs, give them hugs, rub their bellies, and talk to them, and feed them cookies.



Cotton Branch Farm Protection Area also shared the process of recruiting volunteers on Facebook, and then wrote on it: "Do you want to help the cute pigs of Cotton Branch Farm change their lives?"

"Help our adopted residents socialize, so that they can easily enter our adoption plan!"

"Scratch their bellies, eat cookies, sit with them, and even chat with our little pig friends, can help them prepare for a new home."



The farm also stated that volunteers will face the responsibilities and obligations of caring for approximately 100 pigs as well as other various animals. After sharing this news, the farm quickly went viral. Many netizens said it sounded interesting, and nearly 100,000 people wanted to sign up to experience this "spoiled" job.



Countless people liked and shared their posts, many said they would register to participate in it. One person said: "I signed up, I'm so excited!!" Another response said: "I will take the opportunity to go there during my vacation!"

"Just thinking about hugging piglets makes me excited." A volunteer said, "I live in Canada, I am seriously considering using my vacation time to enjoy this incredible volunteer opportunity."



Someone added: "I just like pigs, they are cute and precious animals. I really want to go to your sanctuary, hug these cuties. God bless you for saving them and other animals."


The website states that volunteers do not need to receive any form of training, but must be 18 years or older, or if the age is between 16 and 18 years old, they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. "No exceptions."



If you really can't hug these pigs, then people are also welcome to help the sanctuary through donations. The farm provides various support options for them, including one-time donations, and becoming a monthly partner or sending them what they need from Amazon's wish list.
