Two 6-Meter Giraffes Battle in South Africa, Engaging in Frenzied 'Neck' Attacks, Returning to Elegant Coolness Post-Fight

In the magical nature, animals will fight each other, and they will show off their most offensive 'weapons'. These weapons may be their fangs, may be their claws, or may be their horns. As for giraffes, it's their necks. The British 'Daily Mail' published a video of giraffes fighting on February 19th, which triggered netizens' attention.

The video was shot in a national park in South Africa. In the video, two fighting male giraffes both exceeded 6 meters, with one slightly taller. At first, they were very stylish, estimating each other's height and neck length to measure their combat effectiveness. Suddenly, one giraffe launched a preemptive strike and swung its nearly two-meter neck heavily onto the other's buttocks.

The other one didn't spare it and retaliated with a neck strike, which hit the other's leg. After that, the two giraffes entered a real contest, wildly swinging their long necks, like rotating windmills, dazzling to watch. They hit each other's necks several times, and finally, the shorter one was defeated and stopped attacking on the spot. But unlike many flamboyant carnivorous animals, the victorious giraffe did not start roaring and celebrating. It just stood there motionless, watching its 'neck' under the defeated one with a second of elegant observation.

Experts told reporters that for male giraffes, the length of the neck is very important. A taller height and a longer neck not only allow them to eat more food but also help them win in mate competition. Giraffes may look gentle and aloof, but they often stage 'neck-swinging battles'. Not long ago, a photographer in Kenya captured a giraffe with a deformed neck, suspected of fighting with a similar one, which shocked netizens.
