Country Dogs vs. City Dogs: Which Will Live Longer?
Previously, dogs were raised by people for guarding and watching the house, eating leftover food and scraps, and sleeping on the ground as their beds.
Village dogs in rural areas are expected to live longer than 10 years, approximately 12-20 years. However, it is rare to see dogs living so long.
The status of village dogs is declining, with the main reasons being:
One, Diet
Everyday, rural dogs eat leftover food and scraps, which are high in salt and oil. People who know how to properly care for pets understand that dogs have limited needs for oil and salt, and excessive oil and salt will burden the dog's body.

Two, Environment
In rural areas, most dogs are free-range, and there are frequent dog thieves who roam the countryside. Many dogs have been victims of dog thieves.
There are also many traps, mousetraps, rodenticides, and pesticides in rural areas, and without supervision, dogs easily meet an untimely end.
Three, The Status of Village Dogs
In most people's subconscious, pets, such as dogs, are considered expensive, while village dogs are just 'native dogs' and 'grass dogs,' which are not considered prestigious to keep. This awkward position has led to more and more village dogs being abandoned as stray dogs.
Of course, whether it's a village dog or a pet dog, once it becomes a stray dog, its fate is predictable. Either it will be adopted by a kind person, or adopted by an animal protection organization. The remaining ones will wander the streets, without food or water.

Four, Medical Care
Dogs enter their senior years at around 8 years old, but in rural areas, few owners regularly take their dogs for deworming and checkups. Small problems are neglected until they become serious. In addition, rural facilities are inadequate, and there are few specialized pet hospitals. People can only inquire online about treatment methods and then let fate take its course.

Compared to village dogs, city dogs are often kept as companions. Nowadays, the role of dogs has evolved from guarding homes to becoming a member of the family.
City pets eat dog food and sleep in kennels. They undergo checkups and vaccinations, and with careful care, they are more likely to live a long and healthy life.
Foreign dog breeds lack the corresponding immunity to viruses and bacteria in this land, so they need to be vaccinated from birth to resist them. Naturally, their physique is not as good as native Chinese village dogs.
Dog food is generally low in oil and salt, which creates a constant desire for city pets to eat oil and salt, but they can never satisfy it. It is reasonable to say that the lifespan of city pet dogs is really money-built, so it is normal for city pet dogs to live longer because they have care and nourishment. It's impossible to have a horse run fast and not eat grass.
Village dogs have lived on this land for a long time and have already developed immunity to many viruses and bacteria. Because they have been eating human food for a long time, they will not have diarrhea even when eating human food, and they can absorb nutrients from human food like the human body, providing energy for their bodies.
However, excessive oil and salt will still burden the dog's body.

If we want village dogs to spend more years with us, we cannot let them self-destruct. We also hope that village dogs can soon enjoy the treatment of pet dogs!
