Thai Giraffe Escapes During Transport, Evades Capture, Eventually Found Dead in Swamp
If one day you are driving on the road and a giraffe runs past, what would you feel? Recently, a runaway giraffe in Thailand gave local residents a special experience. However, according to the British 'Daily Mail' report on January 30, this runaway giraffe unfortunately died in a forest swamp.

On the day of the incident, the Thai Zoo was transporting 66 giraffes that had just arrived at Bangkok Airport, which were allocated to 24 trucks, but one truck due to operator error, the cage lock was not inserted, causing the cage to suddenly open, and two giraffes escaped. Then, a spectacle unfolded on the Thai road, with staff chasing after the giraffes, shocking residents and causing a commotion. The two giraffes were 4 meters tall, while the other reached a height of 6 meters, which was a spectacular sight. After tireless efforts by the police and staff, they finally shot the smaller one with a tranquilizer gun and brought it back to the truck. However, the 6-meter giant ran into the forest and disappeared. The transportation manager said that he had been doing animal transportation work for more than 30 years, and this was the first time such a thing had happened.

After that, zoo personnel and local police conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area. They were very worried about the giraffe, as it might be attacked by other wild animals, such as elephants that they had never seen before. It might also damage the local ecosystem. After two days of searching, they finally found the runaway giraffe, but unfortunately, it had already died in a forest swamp. The cause of death is currently unknown.
