Spring is bright, Beijing welcomes a large number of migratory birds, and all 88 terrestrial wild animal epidemic and disease monitoring stations are fully staffed, conducting all-weather monitoring of migratory birds, covering the city's key waterways, important migratory channels for birds, and important bird resting places.
Every migration season, over 200 monitoring station workers record the species and number of birds in the station area every day and provide timely rescue for injured birds.
Beijing is a vital route for many migratory birds in spring and autumn. In addition to Dadongting Lake and Mianlin Reservoir, large water surfaces, the South Sea Village in Daxing and the Dashihe River in Fangshan also have a large number of migratory birds.
Beijing Municipal Bureau of Parks and Greenery, Director Zhang Zhiming introduced that through years of greening and construction, the total forest and wetland area in Beijing has increased, and from January 1st to March 15th, the monitoring stations monitored approximately 1.2 million birds, which is about 20% more than the same period in previous years.
