Giant Pandas Spotted Again After Four Years! Pandas Observed in Three Locations in Qianfoshan, Sichuan
On April 9th, staff at the Qianfoshan National Nature Reserve in Anshan District, Mianyang, Sichuan, were collecting and sorting data from wild infrared cameras when they discovered four sets of wonderful moments of giant pandas in activity at three locations. This is the first time since 2016 that the Qianfoshan National Nature Reserve has captured video footage of giant pandas with their mothers in the wild, and the first time in nearly four years that a giant panda was detected by infrared cameras.

Red Star News reporters saw in the video that one giant panda sat in the snow like a monk meditating, another giant panda slowly approached the camera, seemingly a little ‘shy’, and blocking the lens; and another giant panda lay lazily in the snow, enjoying a relaxed and adorable time.
Qianfoshan National Nature Reserve patrol monitoring team captain Hu Jiayun introduced that the three locations where the pandas were detected were at points 00, 01, and 04, with altitudes ranging from 2500 to 2800 meters. The three locations were spaced two to three kilometers apart.Based on the habits of giant pandas, the three locations must have been captured by different individuals.
