Rare! Kangaroos Bounce and Swim Playfully in Town After Bushfires and Floods

Recently, Australia has been plagued by disasters, after months of wildfires, it finally rained due to the influence of the monsoon season. What was once thought to be a timely rain, turned out to be bringing floods to this country.

According to the British ‘Daily Mail’ report on February 10th, on February 9th local time, the town of Conjola in New South Wales, Australia, was flooded by heavy rain. The next day, the streets of this small town were flooded. It is estimated that about 100 houses were destroyed in the flood.

Residents of Conjola town were forced to travel by small boats and kayaks, and saw various wild animals, including kangaroos, swimming in the flooded streets. One of them, a kangaroo jumping and leaping playfully in the water, was particularly eye-catching.

In the picture, the kangaroo initially floated smoothly on the flooded street, but after a while, it began to use its hind legs to jump quickly on the water surface, looking like the legendary ‘water-drifting’ skill.

Netizens commented on the kangaroo: ‘It’s amazing! This is the first time I’ve seen a kangaroo swimming, it doesn’t seem to be afraid of water and it’s very flexible in the water!’

Conjola resident Gavin Hempstead said in an interview: ‘It’s terrible, but we can’t blame anyone. The fire was very terrible, we went through a lot of suffering.’
