Reporter Mo Shaohua of Hebao NetAt 7 a.m. on March 22nd, photographer Ou Junzhan continued to track and photograph birds at Beilong Lake, and coincidentally encountered two tourists asking about the location of the 'internet celebrity' Trumpeter Swan. He used a drone to show them.

As the lens zoomed in, they discovered that one of the swans was entangled in its leg by a kite line, and the other was guarding it beside, the scene was quite touching.
Ou Junzhan introduced that at that time, he saw that in order to break free from the kite line, the swan had been repeatedly pecking at the line on its leg for about 20 minutes. And it was accompanied by its companion, motionless.

In order to rescue the Trumpeter Swan, they immediately called the police. Zhengdong Public Security Branch Water Police Station and Zhengzhou Forest Public Security Bureau First Police Station received the alarm and contacted the responsible party for the management of Long Lake, Henan Xingdong Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering Company. The company provided a rescue boat to arrive at the nearby waters to rescue.
Subsequently, Zhengdong Public Security Branch Water Police Station, Zhengzhou Forest Public Security Bureau First Police Station and Yang Xidong, Vice Chairman of Henan Wild Bird Observation Society, along with Zhang Wenju, a photographer from Donglong Group, successively contacted Zhengzhou Red Cross Water Rescue Team, Zhengzhou Forestry Bureau Wild Animal Rescue Station and other departments, all departments gathered and began a joint rescue.

‘The rescue boat followed before and after, the swan was very alert and broke free, dragging a long line into the lake, and everyone began to discuss how to rescue,’ Ou Junzhan told Hebao Net reporters.
Zhengzhou Forestry Bureau Wild Animal Rescue Station staff Dong Chaowei observed the swan’s wound and bandaged it. He said that the injured swan’s leg was not seriously injured, after iodine disinfection, and applying anti-inflammatory powder, it is estimated that it will recover in three to five days. After treating the swan’s wound, everyone together released the two swans back to the lake.

From the discovery to the successful treatment, it took about 5 hours, with the efforts of many caring citizens and related departments, the Trumpeter Swan that was entangled in the kite line returned to the water surface.
On the morning of March 23rd, Ou Junzhan went to Long Lake to 'visit' the injured Trumpeter Swan, and found that they were ‘swimming freely’ on the lake, enjoying themselves.
