Dazhong Net · Hai Bao Xin Wen Yan Tai March 1st news(Correspondent Zhang Jiawei, Reporter Chen Xiao) On the morning of February 29th, fishermen discovered a wild white river dolphin playing on the sea in the south village of Dacqin Island Town, Weihai Comprehensive Test Zone, and took pictures of it playing in the water with their mobile phones.
This is not the first time that white river dolphins have appeared in Dacqin Island. As the ecological environment of Dacqin Island continues to improve, white river dolphins and whales appear frequently, which has led to a significant increase in the populations of species with extremely high ecological requirements such as oriental white stork, spotted seal, and yellow-billed egret. At the same time, native algae such as green algae, scallops, and other wild seafood, as well as traditional economic fish species such as Bohai knife fish, have shown varying degrees of recovery. Dacqin Island has been named 'Green Waters and Green Mountains are Gold and Silver' Innovation Base by the ecological environment department.
