Chance Encounter with a Peregrine Falcon
Chance encounter with a Peregrine Falcon
A Peregrine Falcon is a migratory raptor. According to Baidu and others, its main diet consists of birds and small animals. It has a widespread distribution, commonly found in China, Central Europe, North Africa, Northern India, and Mongolia. It is a secondary key protected animal in China.
While hiking in a birch forest along a river valley, I was trying to photograph a pheasant because there was a crested pheasant in that area. I've explored this forest many times, but I haven't managed to photograph the whole one. However, I unexpectedly encountered a Peregrine Falcon. It seemed to be regurgitating something, probably because it had eaten a lot of field mice.
