Winter's Chill Subsides, Spring Returns and Ten Thousand Creatures Flock to Changhan Lake
As the weather warms, the Changhan Lake Nature Reserve in Songyuan, Jilin Province, has welcomed approximately 200,000 migratory cranes. Changhan Lake belongs to inland wetland and water ecological system nature reserve, with diverse bird habitats, abundant water sources, and rich food resources.

In recent years, the reserve has continuously increased its protection and management of Changhan Lake, reducing human disturbance, and the bird population and numbers in Changhan Lake have increased significantly. There are currently 18 orders and 51 families of birds in the reserve, with 8 species of national level key protected animals including White Stork, Black Stork, Scarlet Macaw, and Golden Eagle, and 37 species of national level secondary key protected animals including White Swan, White Spoonbill, and Hooded Crested Eagle.
